Job Overview

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this person supervises the maintenance team and ensures The Boulevard Club property and equipment are maintained in good working order and well presented for the benefit of members and staff. Follows the guidelines of The Boulevard Club's Mission and Vision Statements, lives and promotes the Values of the Club and its D&I policy, and supports The Boulevard Club's standards and objectives of sports excellence to achieve the highest level of Member satisfaction.

Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains The Boulevard Club property. Ensures that the property and equipment are maintained in good working order and well presented for the benefit of Members and Staff.
  • Oversees the physical operations of the Club, including maintenance and repair and ordering parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining ‘sustainability' initiatives.
  • Assists in leading Club's renovations and other projects, negotiates contracts, and ensures timely completion of projects within budget.
  • Directs day-to-day maintenance requirements, plans, assigns and documents work, and establishes performance and development goals for team members.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Educates and trains all team members in compliance with governmental and safety regulations.
  • Be knowledgeable about all emergency procedures, i.e. Fire, Life Safety, Child Safety and acts in the situation according to the set standard/procedure.
  • Responds in a courteous and prompt manner to all Member questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Maintains relations with outside contacts including regulatory agencies, suppliers, contractors, and others as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Related post-secondary education and/or advanced vocational training.
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience in Maintenance, preferably with previous supervisory experience
  • Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields preferred.
  • Able to handle physical work on a daily basis.
  • Experience in hospitality/club industry an asset
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Act
  • Professional certification and license if required by law.
