Job Title: Senior Technical Product OwnerJob ID: AT9348893729Location: Richmond, BCOverview:Our client is looking for a Technical Product Owner to manage the technical roadmap for their enterprise applications or services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). The position works closely with the business & technical teams to enable business needs and long-term operational availability and stability. The role will help align business objectives with technical requirements and be an important stakeholder in bridging the business, common services & infrastructure, and DevOps teams. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and understands architecture, application components, and infrastructure dependencies. They are experienced with ‘hands-on' setting and driving a product's technical roadmap through inception, development, and maintenance. What you will be doing:
  • Define and maintain the technical product vision, and roadmap obtaining approval from key stakeholders whilst ensuring alignment with the overall product roadmap
  • Assess and evaluate technical application components in terms of usage and determine upgrade path
  • Initiate operating projects or initiatives and is accountable for each stage of product delivery
  • Participate and contribute to the organization's Request for Proposal or Information process
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, Software Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts as technical advisors to transition business requirements into technical requirements
  • As the primary liaison, communicate with stakeholders, provide clarity and technical detail necessary for product development to succeed, and provide details on risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies
  • Manage the technical product backlog by incorporating technical requirements and dependencies to ensure work is aligned and correctly prioritized with the product roadmap. This includes defining technical goals, writing epics, features, and user stories, setting priorities and evaluating product progress
  • Negotiate priority with business product management to balance business and technical requirements as they contribute to the stability of the product life cycle
  • Interpret technical and business objectives and challenges, and articulate solutions to the wider audience
  • Fulfill the role of SAFe Product Owner and support delivery teams to facilitate successful Program Increment delivery
  • Collaborate with site reliability and/or software engineering teams to set observability goals and measures
  • Define success criteria for product delivery and product acceptance
  • Provide technical oversight to Proof of Concept and/or feasibility studies as required to support the business case in moving forward
  • Participate in Centers of Enablement (CoE), CoE Working Groups, and CoE Communities of Practice (CoP) to collaborate with stakeholders on common engineering guardrails, practices, learning, and innovation.
What you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 8+ years of equivalent work experience in IT.
  • Significant experience in managing relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including both IT and business groups and at varying organizational levels.
  • Significant experience with hands-on Agile DevOps delivery and Hybrid Agile delivery (combination of waterfall and agile practices).
  • Well-developed core consulting skills of research, analysis, presentation, and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills – an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional facilitation skills.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work.
  • Able to comply with Employee and Contractor Mandatory Vaccine Policy
