Key Responsibilities:
The Tritium Removal Facility (TRF) at Darlington Nuclear Generating Station upgrades the D2O and removes tritium from the Moderator and Main Heat Transport System. The Extracted Tritium is sold for many industrial applications, including exit signs, and upon decay, it is sold as Helium-3 for many applications, including fusion reactors.
The System Responsible Engineer (SRE) job is required to support TRF during the Major Component Replacement Projects. As an SRE individual is responsible for the day-to-day field priorities, system walk-downs, system health, long-term spares, systematic approach to troubleshooting, identification of parts, supporting work planning process, outage planning and execution support, preventive maintenance program support, bridging and mitigating strategy, long term projects, etc.
Clear communications, Integrity, accountability, technical competency, and continuous learning are required. The expectation is to demonstrate ownership of the system.
Qualifications:
  • Engineering bachelor's degree is a must. Chemical / Mechanical Engineering Preferred.
  • The professional engineering license is an advantage.
  • Previous TRF experience would be given priority. In lack of TRF experience, preference would be given to chemical plant or gas plant prior experiences.
  • Past System Responsible engineer experience would be very beneficial.
  • Project Management is an asset but not a requirement.
