Job Title: Intermediate Solution ArchitectJob ID: AT1785906629Location: Richmond, BCOverview:The Cloud Solution Architect is embedded in EDO teams and works directly with product owners to understand the specific requirements that are driving the need for a solution to be designed. The Solution Architect translates these requirements into the design of a software solution and describes it through standardized technical viewpoints. While solution architects are primarily accountable to the product owners of EDO teams for the design of software solutions, they also work closely with the Cloud Architecture, Delivery, Infrastructure, and Operations teams on formulating a design plan that factors technology investments and risks while providing value by eliminating unnecessary software complexities in every solution that IT delivers. The Cloud Solution Architect will provide direction to our delivery and infrastructure teams in a cloud environment. The Solution Architect is accountable to the I&T Director - EDO for the fulfillment of the duties and has no assigned subordinates but provides architecture direction and technical guidance to EDO team members.What you will be doing:

• Leads in translating tactical business objectives into the executable design, by participating in the business requirement definition phase, and formulating proof of concept plans that demonstrate the feasibility of solution options. This role also assists in the assessment of technical and operational readiness to ensure that the delivery of both business capabilities and technical capabilities can evolve and scale in tandem, and as required.
• Leads in solution design that factors technology investments and risks, while also eliminating unnecessary software complexities. Works closely with EDO team members as well as the Cloud Architecture, Delivery, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to translate functional designs into efficient, implementable solution architecture and designs Verifies that the design is built, configured, and documented correctly as the software solution stabilizes. This role helps the project team recognize and mitigate any emerging risk to existing business processes or to the solution's overall success.
• Working closely with stakeholders across I&T drives the adoption of technologies, patterns, and practices that build in flexibility and robustness.
• Contributes to I&T's technology governance by ensuring that the use of information and technology generates business value while mitigating any risks that might arise from selected software solutions.
• Collaborates frequently to anchor and embed system design
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you must have:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
• 9 to 12 years of directly-related experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a role requiring application architecture design and definition.
• An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
• Highly skilled in cloud architecture - assisting with company's cloud strategy, incorporating cloud adoption plans, working on cloud application design as well as cloud management and monitoring, and providing support for application architecture and deployment in cloud environments.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work
• Able to comply with Employee and Contractor Mandatory Vaccine Policy
