Summary:

Ulnooweg Education Centre (UEC) has partnered with the Joint Economic Development Initiative and the McKenna Institute through UNB on a new set of projects. UEC seeks a communications intern to support events and activities associated with our upcoming programs. The support this intern provides can range from administrative, planning and development activities across and beyond the three partnered organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist planning and coordination of events UEC's New Brunswick Portfolio, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Document activities and key moments throughout projects and events for social media.
  • Support the Project team in creating branding. This may look like outreach and coordination with artists, contractors, and community members.
  • Assist in drafting and editing Communications materials both internally throughout the Project team and externally to the public.
  • Monitor and engage with the Project team's social media channels, tracking metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Communications teams across multiple organization to create consistent messaging and branding across content.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and preparing materials for events.
  • Attend events, gatherings and meetings on behalf of UEC.
  • Act as a liaison across partnered organizations and external stakeholders to foster positive relationships.
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a degree program in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation tools such as Canva and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks with shared timelines.
  • Enthusiastic about visual storytelling, with experience in photography, videography, or graphic design considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of branding principles and experience in brand development or management is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with wide range of stakeholders.
  • Access to vehicle and Class 5 drivers licence are assets
