About UJA Federation of Greater Toronto

At UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, our vision is to lead the most vibrant Jewish community in North America - a community characterized by its diversity, unity, compassion, generosity and commitment to Jewish values. Together with our philanthropic, volunteer and professional leadership, we're changing lives.

As one of North America's leading Jewish non-profits, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto works to preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Greater Toronto, Canada, Israel and around the world. UJA advances this mission through fundraising, programs, and research focused on our strategic pillars: fighting poverty and improving well-being, growing Jewish education and identity, countering antisemitism and hate, and strengthening connections with Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.

About the Opportunity

The Integrated Development team has an integrated approach to fundraising. It includes UJA's Annual Campaign, the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, and transformational campaigns. Funds raised are invested into the community, strengthening every face of Jewish life.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Philanthropic Leadership Operations & Stewardship, we are seeking an enthusiastic Stewardship and Proposal Development Manager to work with the fundraising team to help develop and implement a systemized and achievable stewardship and proposal strategy to strengthen long-term relationships with major donors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the fundraising and communications teams to develop donor proposals, updates, and stewardship materials
  • Develop and oversee an annual stewardship plan and all related operations, with a focus on providing donors with a tangible sense of impact and a high level of accountability
  • Proactively coordinate all requirements to fulfill proposal requests and stewardship plans, including content collateral and development, research on impact statistics and stories, upkeep of information, etc. as required
  • Work with the integrated fundraising team to ensure colleagues are updated and equipped with stewardship and proposal products
  • Identify best practices within the charitable sector for stewardship planning and operations
  • Develop and execute special initiatives and strategies related to deepening donor stewardship.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree, or other post-secondary education
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional fundraising organization or customer service environment
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple requests
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships
  • Clear and effective communicator, including being a good listener
  • Experience with a CRM system and/or demonstrated ability to learn new software programs easily
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Able to work effectively both in office and remotely
  • Familiarity with Toronto's Jewish community is considered an asset

* This is a full-time permanent position, Union Level E. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work. Engagement and connection are key to supporting the best employee experience and we want to ensure that this puts balance and well-being at the forefront of our approach to ways of working. In addition to a rich time off policy, UJA's offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and we support early office closures to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).

We look forward to connecting with you to understanding what you can bring to the UJA team and how we can support your career goals. Qualified applicants are invited to submit a cover letter and resume. Only those applicants invited for interview will be contacted.
