Under the direction of the Director of Programs & Services, the Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned counselling Programs. Programs included in the portfolio may include one or more of: Substance Use Services for youth, health promotion and prevention programming done in partnership with School District 43, substance use services for adults and family support and clinical counselling done in partnership with MCFD Social Work and CYMH Teams. This is an HSA Bargaining Unit Position and requires Union membership.

Start Date: Immediately

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, to be scheduled in consultation with supervisor.

Classification: HSA Paraprofessional Grid 17

Closing Date: April 30, 2024

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, orient, direct and supervise the assigned team(s).
  • Coordinate and document staff meetings.
  • Conduct all human resource activities within the guidelines of the agency personnel policy manual and the collective agreement.
  • Review and monitor service to ensure that goals of persons served, program goals and contract requirements and outcomes are being met.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with families, funders, donors, collateral community groups.
  • Monitor and provide supervision to support staff conformance,
  • Provide direct service as required by the program.
  • Participate in and support agency activities, vision, mission and values.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • M.A. in social work, psychology or related field - a focus on work with children, youth and families and/or individuals in relationships with substances is an asset;
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience related to the populations listed above;
  • Experience in providing supervision and working with multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Skills in family counselling, behavioural management, advocacy and integrated case management;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Strong time management, documentation and reporting skills.
