Senior Corporate Controller

Primary Location: Vancouver, BC

Employee Status: Full Time – must be available to be in office 5 days per week.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually

The Opportunity


The Senior Corporate Controller will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and accurate financial reporting for multiple companies operating within the Bridgemans Services Group. This position involves close collaboration with the Director of Finance and the President. The Senior Corporate Controller is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting as well as assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements. They will lead and manage the financial team both local and internationally. This position requires extensive experience in financial management and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Finance, responsibilities, and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Monthly Financial Reporting

  • Oversee and complete the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze and interpret monthly financial data, highlighting trends, deviations, and areas requiring attention.
  • Collaborate and lead finance team to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and reconcile any discrepancies.

Quarterly Performance Analysis

  • Prepare comprehensive financial analyses for quarterly performance reviews.
  • Work with department heads to gather relevant financial data for performance evaluation.
  • Present financial performance to the Director, Finance and President, providing insights into key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Evaluation and analysis of quarterly and annual reporting covenants as requested by the group's bankers.

Annual Financial Preparations

  • Lead the process of compiling data and preparing financial statements for the annual reporting cycle.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy of financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, incorporating insights from historical data and anticipated business developments.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with finance team and other departments to ensure seamless coordination between financial reporting and day-to-day financial operations.
  • Provide guidance on accounting treatments, financial controls, and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team

Reporting & Communication

  • Report financial results, trends, and analyses to the Director, Finance and President on a regular basis.
  • Communicate financial insights in a clear and actionable manner to support strategic decision-making.

Compliance & Regulations

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, plans and procedures to ensure the companies financial health and compliance
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance in financial reporting.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard financial data, assets and mitigate financial risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, and accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Previous experience going through an accounting software change is an asset
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience with multiple operations and foreign currency.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication skills to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
