Job Summary:
The Plant Operations Manager ensures that Dextran Products manufactures and ships products on-time and meeting all customer quality requirements for quality, while ensuring that the plant operates in quality compliant, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Company standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing & Product Delivery: Direct manufacturing, shipping, receiving and maintenance departments to produce and deliver products that meet customer and Company on-time delivery, quality and product cost expectations.
- Manufacturing, Quality & Safety Standards: Manage chemical manufacturing facility while ensuring that employees and processes meet cGMP manufacturing, quality and safety standards.
- Equipment & Operational Readiness: Ensure that plant, manufacturing, lab and other facilities infrastructure and equipment are properly maintained, reliable and available to ensure plant production, process development, quality and safety needs.
- Material Planning & Availability: Ensure that raw materials are planned for, procured, meet quality specifications and are available for use for manufacturing and process development requirements.
- Production & Staff Planning: Manage the planning of production to meet customer commitment requirements ensuring there is adequately trained staff available to support production plans.
- Health, Safety & Environmental: Ensures that manufacturing, shipping, receiving, and plant facilities meet company and regulatory health, safety and environmental standards, policies and regulations.
- Facility& Building Maintenance: Ensures that all facilities and building related equipment and infrastructure are properly maintained and in continual effective working order.
- Vendor Management: Directs the selection, oversees the performance of, and addresses gaps in the performance of outside vendors who perform work on behalf of the plant.
- Cost Management & Improvements: Directs the development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective processes and utility systems to meet current and future operational needs of the organization.
- Manufacturing Technology: Maintains knowledge of new manufacturing processes and technology that supports current and future manufacturing needs.
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelors degree in Science, Chemical Engineering or related degree and/or commensurate experience is required.
- Ten or more years of experience in materials manufacturing, ideally in the chemical, bio-pharmaceutical, food, flavor or other related industries is required.
- Prior experience leading manufacturing, maintenance and/or operations with a cGMP manufacturer is highly preferred.

Pay:
- Starting at a minimum of $100,000 annually CAD
