Job Title: Planner - Production ScheduleJob ID: PL303704728Location: North Vancouver, BCOverview:The Planner, Production Schedule will be responsible for scheduling the detail planning shop orders in line with the requirements of the build sequence and master integrated schedule of the project. This position will report to Manager, Outfit & Onboard Planning and has no direct reports. What you will be doing:
  • Applying Primavera project planning tool to develop and maintain detailed shop order schedules.
  • Ensures interface between P6 schedules and MRP system (IFS) are maintained at the detail planning level 5 & 6.
  • Coordinates with Detail Planners, Area Managers, Trade Supervisors to keep the detailed schedules updated in P6 and MRP system(IFS).
  • Prepares and distributes weekly and monthly project status reports to production support organization.
  • Liaises with key subcontract partners to integrate their detailed schedule with the shipyard trade schedules.
  • Acts as the link between the Stage of Construction (SOC) based Production Control Technologist and Detail Planners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you must have:
  • 2 - 4 years planning/scheduling experience in a large manufacturing/heavy industry environment, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
  • Certification by an accredited society in Planning, Production Control and/or Project Management is highly recommended.
  • Experience using an ERP system in a large manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency working with independent planning systems including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and demonstrated inventory and material management experience, would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Very detailed and analytical nature with the ability to identify and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office based packages such as Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Exhibited ability to multi-task, prioritize and change direction when required.
  • Ability to function as a team member and collaborate efficiently with various functions
