Summary

The Senior Project Manager is solely responsible for managing client projects through the prescribed project management framework to ensure successful completion. Projects vary in size (budgets, team size, project duration) and complexity (scope, constraints, risks). This individual reports to the Founder and Principal Consultant and will be appropriately coached, mentored, and/or supported.

Job Description

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to track and report project progress.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Report and escalate challenges, concerns, or issues to management and the client as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with client and their stakeholders.
  • Facilitate weekly project team meetings, ensuring project activities are completed on time and with high quality.
  • Build resource plans and work with clients to fulfill resource requirements.
  • Provide and/or present weekly status reports to project sponsors.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges, including issues and risks.
  • Track and report on project progress, costs, resource hours, decisions, changes, and lessons learned throughout the project.
  • Manage project change requests appropriately, assessing the impact on cost, timeline, scope, resourcing, and beyond.
  • Create and execute project communications to varying stakeholder groups.
  • Manage all project management documentation in a structured and organized manner.
  • Optimize and improve project processes and overall approach where necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (equivalencies related to education and work experience may be considered).
  • 10+ years of IT project management experience
  • Excellent systems thinking, analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage yourself independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to express ideas, recommendations, and decisions clearly and concisely with varying stakeholders.
  • Experience working with change management frameworks or
  • Solid organizational skills, including strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Project management designations and/or certifications are considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with change management and/or design thinking principles is an asset.
