Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Manager in the Courtenay Office. The successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in various sectors (resource, municipal, energy and mining) and will possess a strong background surveying, inspecting, and designing infrastructure through various sectors with a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and commissioning of projects. This position will involve a mix of field and office work, ranging throughout the year and based on project requirements.
Major Job Functions:
- Structure Condition Assessment
- Construction Inspection
- Geotechnical Assessments (Test pits, infiltration testing, material sampling etc.)
- Surveying (Total Station & GPS)
- Preparing Engineering Drawings for projects in various sectors
- Coordinating project drawings and reports
- Project Management and Contract Administration

Education and Experience:
- Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or Equivalent Experience
- Minimum one year experience in a design or consulting engineering environment
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D
