We build and operate fast, reliable fiber networks so rural Canada can thrive, and we are currently looking for a Design Coordinator to compliment our growing Design Team in achieving this.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Design Coordinator will work closely with internal and external OSP designers, GIS professionals, and CAD Technicians providing support including procuring, organizing, and handling GIS and CAD data/designs, facilitating design delivery and requirements, outreach to external stakeholders and data providers, organizing and taking notes in design meetings, and updating middle and senior management regarding status of designs through verbal, written, and graphical means.

Key Organizational Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Be responsible for own health and wellness, personally and professionally, to ensure you can perform this role as needed.
  • Contribute to the goals of connectivity through your performance and contributions to CFOC.
  • Working responsibly on the work assigned to you within the values of CFOC.

General Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing design kickoff, regular meetings, requirements, progress, and delivery to align with schedule and budget.
  • Gathering, organizing, handling, tracking, and transferring GIS and CAD data layers between internal and external parties as required.
  • Reviewing, negotiating, tracking, and recommending design change orders.
  • Administering design contracts including processing monthly invoices for payment.
  • Performing reviews to conform design to contract requirements and proposal commitments.
  • Working with Supply Chain and the PMO personnel to ensure materials procurement aligns with detailed design specifications.
  • Assisting analysts and design team on special research and technical projects.
  • Packaging and delivering IFC drawings and all the required permit/crossing agreement documentation to construction team in concert with Project Coordinators and permitting professionals.
  • Coordinating all construction redline/markup sources and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years experience in a fast-paced administrative or coordinator role.
  • Proven ability to understand contractual terms.
  • Proficient computer skills & knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications including Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with GIS/CAD data and software either in a professional or educational environment.
  • OSP fiber optic design experience.
  • Previous experience working in design or drafting environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Proactive problem solver.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects successfully; prioritize work and requests.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Schedule:
