Our office in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is looking for two (2) dedicated, motivated, and creative Programmer/Analysts to join the Information technology team.

Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the Application Development Manager, the Programmer/Analyst will join the existing team in supporting and enhancing the day-to-day existing critical business applications. The Programmer/Analysts responsibilities will include the analysis, design, development, testing and support of custom business application software and integration with other software as well.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance existing custom applications using Oracle, Microsoft, and other development tools.
• Provide support to existing application modules.
• Troubleshoot production issues, determining root cause and resolution.
• Participate in the evolution of critical systems as changes in business, processes and technologies emerge.
• Participate in project and team meetings to interact and collaborate with team members and other departments as appropriate.
• Develop function requirement specifications for new enhancements and applications.
• Write high quality and well-documented code according to accepted standards.
• Perform quality testing of changes to ensure correct function while matching pre-determined test results in advance of user acceptance.
• Adjust programs and reports, SQL procedures and other program codes as needed.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:

• Completion of a University or College degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or related field.
• SQL development
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Solid communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills/
• Demonstrates leadership skills and independence.
• Solid understanding of emerging technologies.
• Ability to navigate, troubleshoot and quickly develop in-depth technical understanding of new applications.
• Experience with HTML, XML, SQL Server, Java and/or.NET technologies are considered an asset.
• Must possess strong technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
• Proven abilities in relationship building, customer-focus, decision-making and accountability.
