As the Hair Stylist, you are responsible for providing a welcoming and professional environment for our residents by providing quality hair styling services.
Responsibilities
- Conferring with residents to determine hair styling needs, preferences, and specifications for an immediate client base
- Shampooing, conditioning, and drying residents' hair
- Cutting, trimming and styling hair, including colouring and waving
- Comfortable using various hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs.
- Clean and sterilize all hair styling tools and instruments in accordance with provincial health regulations. Including maintaining a safe and sanitary salon environment.
- Maintain inventory of hair care products
- Build and maintain relationships with residents
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of cosmetology program is preferred
- Hair stylist license is required
- Business operating license is required
- Liability insurance is required
- Three (3) years of experience is required
- Required to have hair styling tools and products
- Experience in an aging adults setting is an asset
- Superior organizational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers and residents
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Patient and detail oriented
