POSITION: Shop Manager, Red Seal Mechanic

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting T-Ruckin Oilfield Services Ltd. in the recruitment of a full time Shop Manager. T-Ruckin Oilfield Services Ltd. is a growing provider of oilfield rig moving services throughout Northern Alberta. With locations in both Edson and Grande Prairie, we offer over 10 years of experience in oilfield rig moving, striving to develop mutually beneficial long-term relationships with our customers. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of transport equipment required for the clean-up, removal, and burial of materials and soils. We are looking for someone with manager experience and is skilled, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead a team of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and specialized oilfield equipment
  • Onboarding of new shop labourers, ensuring completion of on-site training
  • Maintaining records of supplies and parts picked/used in conjunction with closely monitoring the material required for restocking of the shop
  • Carries out monthly shop inspections

  • Coordinates equipment usage with drivers

  • Completes any required logs and maintenance

  • Remain in full contact with the General Manager and keep them informed of the day-to-day operations and any issues that may arise
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyman Mechanic certification

  • Current certifications an asset:
    • H2S, First Aid, CSO, WHMIS, and TDG certification

  • Understanding of Incident Investigations and Safety Supervision

  • Understands requirements, responsibilities and rights under occupational health and safety legislation
  • Valid Class 5 license with air brake endorsement

  • Crane Certification and Hoisting and Lifting devices certification

  • Physically fit to carry out required job duties

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

  • Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
