About the Role:

As a Technical Writer at DataStealth, you'll play a critical role in shaping the documentation and educational materials that empower our users and stakeholders to fully leverage our Data Security Platform (DSP). Your expertise in technical writing, combined with a deep understanding of cybersecurity, data protection principles, and enterprise Linux environments, will help in creating comprehensive, clear, and user-friendly documentation. Responsibilities:

  • Craft high-quality, detailed documentation for DataStealth's products and services, including user guides, API documentation, installation/configuration instructions, and system operations.
  • Work closely with our engineering, product, and support teams to gather technical details and insights. Your ability to understand and translate complex technical concepts into simple, accessible language will be key.
  • Implement and maintain standards for documentation, including reviewing, revising, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of technical documents.
  • Play an integral role in the creation and execution of a content strategy that supports and extends marketing, product, and support initiatives, ensuring content consistency and accuracy across all platforms.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal teams and users to continually improve documentation and educational materials. Your role will involve staying up-to-date with product updates, industry trends, and customer needs to ensure relevant and impactful content.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve and update documentation, ensuring it meets the needs and solves the challenges of our users.
  • Collaborate with leadership to form the foundation of the Technical Writer department, starting with tools like Google Docs, and lead the transition to advanced XML-based systems like DITA, showcasing adaptability and innovation in documentation methodologies.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a technical writer in the technology sector, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse documentation (cybersecurity or data protection expertise preferred).
  • Strong ability to understand complex technical data and user requirements to produce comprehensive documentation.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, concise, and accessible language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently paired with an eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, computer networking concepts, and cybersecurity principles. Familiarity with data security regulations and compliance requirements such as PCI DSS is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
