Yorktown Search Partners is currently engaged in a confidential search on behalf of our client for a Vice President to lead the Origination team nationally within the commercial mortgage sector. This pivotal role demands a seasoned expert in commercial real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and expand the Origination team nationwide, leveraging established teams and recruiting new members.
  • Develop and execute origination strategies aligned with our clients long-term Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee day-to-day operations to achieve business targets.
  • Foster key customer relationships and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Collaborate with Investment Management on underwriting due diligence and investor approval processes.
  • Develop and implement national marketing and sales strategies through various channels.
  • Drive innovation and adaptability to market changes, recommending policy and product enhancements.

Leadership and Governance:

  • Champion the company's vision, mission, and values, internally and externally.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performance origination team.
  • Establish performance standards, promote innovation, and ensure compliance.
  • Represent the company in relationships with major stakeholders and industry groups.
  • Ensure team members are properly licensed and compliant with legislative requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the Canadian commercial mortgage market.
  • 2-3 years' leadership experience with a focus on team development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, with professional designations considered an asset.
  • Mortgage Broker License required.
