Salary:

Western Toyota is looking for a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician for immediate start.

This is a leadership role, where you will be responsible for the actual servicing or repair of customer's and dealership vehicles, including timely maintenance, quality workmanship and attention to detail.

The Journeyman Automotive Service Technician will take the lead to ensure that our customers maximize the safety and lifespan of their vehicles. You will also take the lead to ensure the reconditioning of used vehicles for retail sales.

You are a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician who is very experienced with:

  1. Performing diagnostics, servicing, and/or repairing vehicles.
  2. Performing extensive mechanical and electrical repairing of vehicles.
  3. Standard operating procedures to perform maintenance as directed by the Service Manager.
  4. Completing work in accordance with all applicable safety requirements and procedures.
  5. Documenting services and repairs completed by making appropriate notes showing “condition, cause and remedy”.
  6. Documenting additional needed repairs showing “condition, cause and remedy”.
  7. Dispose of fluids and chemicals in accordance with established Dealer and WHMIS guidelines.
  8. Maintain an inventory of standard automotive technician tools required.
  9. Return customer's vehicles as clean as (or cleaner than) they were prior to servicing.

Training Expectations:

  1. You will be required to attend training courses as directed by the Service Manager.
  2. You will take time to review all service bulletins and technical publications.
  3. You will be required to complete TU on-line TecSmart training courses as directed.

Your Quality Control Responsibilities:

  1. Test drive vehicle prior to service or repair (Express Lube excepted).
  2. Verify repair by operating repaired component several times.
  3. Test drive vehicle after the service or repair is completed.
  4. Complete the quality control inspection form when attached to the repair order.
  5. Attach and complete a quality control inspection form when the customer complaint could not be duplicated, and no repair was performed.

Qualifications

  • Automotive Technician's Journeyman Certificate.
  • Excellent automotive diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a professional service team.
  • Possess excellent communication skills – to coordinate with shop foreman and Service Manager on all aspects of automotive service.
  • Must be well organized and systematic in all aspects of the service process.
  • Possess a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
