Why this role is significant

As a Marina Guest Service Agent, you play a crucial role in setting and maintaining the service standards for all guest interactions at the marina. You warmly welcome and assist guests with water sports and boat reservations, as well as incoming and outgoing vessels, ensuring exceptional service and safety at all times.

A day in the life

  • Provide exceptional service to all marina guests and address feedback and concerns promptly.
  • Manage incoming emails and phone calls, including reservations and general inquiries.
  • Create, manage, and complete paddle sport, boat rentals, and moorage reservations with proper documentation.
  • Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures for all reservations and bookings.
  • Ensure that guests receive comprehensive water safety training, understand all documents, and are provided with all necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Assist incoming and outgoing vessels including safely docking in their slips.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain all marina equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition.
  • Inspect docked vessels for secures lines, electrical cords, and fenders to ensure vessel and guest safety.
  • Maintain clean restrooms, docks, walkways, and office including daily trash and recycling removal.
  • Ensure docks, equipment and facilities are operational and in good repair.
  • Complete all daily checklist items and tasks including cash handling and cash-out procedures.

What you bring to the team

  • At least one year of previous customer service experience.
  • You are guest-focused with the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • You are professional, warm, and confident in your abilities.
  • Attention to detail and organization comes natural to you.
  • Effective, efficient, and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of boat safety regulations and best practices.
  • Previous marina experience is considered an asset.

This position requires Marina Basic First Aid, Transport Canada Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), and Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (ROC) for marine VHF radio. We will provide training for successful applicants who require any of these certifications at no cost.

Please note that this position is a seasonal fixed contract until September 2024. If a suitable position is available in another department at the end of the contract, employment may continue thereafter.
