Cost Control Coordinator

Key Information:

  • Must have a Diploma and/or Post-Secondary education in Administration, Accounting, and/or Project Management or equivalent.
  • Must be able to prepare cost reports and track daily progress.
  • Support the project team and perform other administrative duties as needed.
  • Hours: Based on a 40 hour week. (Monday-Friday) Overtime when required.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
  • Health benefits and vacation pay.

Job Description:

  • Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly cost reports.
  • Reviewing timesheets and tracking daily progress.
  • Investigating potential out of scope work, managing ongoing and potential change orders.
  • Support the project team when needed (procurement support, material receiving, invoicing, progress and quantity tracking).
  • Processing LEM's.
  • Reviewing data from software utilized by the project and operations team.
  • Data entry/collection as required.
  • Other administrative duties such as filing, correspondence preparation and updating multiple logs/tracking sheets.
  • Assist in estimating.
  • Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • Diploma and/or Post-Secondary education in Administration, Accounting, and/or Project Management or equivalent required.
  • Project Administration, cost control and/or Project Management experience required.
  • Knowledge/experience in construction industry; understands terminology and processes required.
  • Knowledge and competence of various types of software (B2W, Eclipse, Asset Panda).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to create and manage spreadsheets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple supervisors and sub trades.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment potentially reporting to many different people.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • Proficient English language skills required.

Education: Diploma and/or Post-Secondary education in Administration, Accounting, and/or Project Management or equivalent.
