Summary

Liberty Tire is looking to fill the position of Maintenance Millwright, who, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for ensuring regular maintenance is carried out and for the repair of all equipment and machinery throughout the plant and yard. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs.

Applicants must be able to work Monday - Friday 11:30pm-8am.

Our operations run 24/7

Shift work is required, and shifts will change or rotate due to business need.

Compensation

$43.68 -$45.76 per hour + Shift Premiums

Un-ticketed Millwrights $ 40.50 / hour to start and $ 42.42 / hour after 3 months, + shift premiums.

Ticketed Millwrights $ 45.00 / hour to start and $ 47.13 / hour after 3 months, + shift premiums.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment daily to identify any irregularities or malfunctions
  • Record keeping of maintenance manuals and EMP
  • Equipment-hour tracking and reporting
  • Adjust machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Fabricates, repair, and install parts
  • Clean lubricates and perform routine maintenance on machinery
  • Perform all functions according to proper safety practices, including lock-out procedures, use of safety harness and belts, and all company policies and procedures
  • Document work performed and complete daily checklists. Complete records and forms accurately, ensures maintenance records are up to date and accurate
  • Maintain good communication with vendors, fellow workers, Supervisors, and Managers
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and law-abiding manner
  • Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

  • Certified Millwright OR knowledge, skills or willingness to complete Millwright Certification
  • Electrical experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of welding and use of cutting torch, forklift
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures for all equipment and operations
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Leadership ability to coach, mentor, and train new employees
  • Safety champion, team-oriented and mechanically inclined
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to be flexible in hours of work and willing to be on call
  • Ability to physically carry out the demands of the position
  • Knowledge, skills and ability, and willingness to complete Millwright Certification
  • Valid BC driver's license class 5
