• Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Location: Calgary, AB (NE Area)
  

About the Role

The Saw Technician will be reporting to the Shop Manager and will be responsible for all the components of completing a Manufacturing Order accurately and operation of the Laser Tube Cutter.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding the specifications on the Manufacturing Order including matching heat numbers and dimensions between the Material Test Report and raw material
• Identifying the required cut length measurement
• Measuring and cutting raw steel accurately to ensure the appropriate length requirements from the Manufacturing Order
• Regularly operating equipment including forklift laser tube cutter and rotating saw
• Positioning forklift baskets in the correct location
• Responsible for ensuring all requirements for shipping are met including securing parts onto a pallet, safely loading the truck, and including the correct information for each order
• Operation of CNC Saws and Laser Tube Cutter
• Understanding of CNC Saw and Laser Tube Cutter maximum capabilities
• Adhering to health and safety protocols including always wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge and previous experience operating a Laser Tube Cutter and CNC Saw
• Possess understanding of weight restrictions, equal distribution of load, and safe lifting techniques
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees and supervisors
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
• Must be able to lift heavy parts up to 23 kg (50lbs)
