Canlan is currently looking for an Intern for Corporate Sports Operations!

This role is for the spring/summer term, we will be offering an honorarium at the completion of the internship.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sports Intern to assist our VP of North American Operations with a variety of projects related to sports management. As an intern, you will work closely with the VP of Operations to support the daily operations of our sports complexes and assist in developing and implementing new initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with General Managers and Subject matter experts to modify and update existing SOJT (Standard on the Job) training guides.
  • You will assist in building and tracking a balance scorecard to measure and monitor key performance indicators for our sports facilities.
  • You will assist in developing a closing schedule for each facility for the year, ensuring that the facilities are closed efficiently and effectively.
  • You will work on creating a centralized location for all SOJTs and JDs for everyone to access, making it easier for staff members to find the information they need.
  • You will work on finding technological replacements for the CSR and front desk area to make it more customer-friendly.
  • You will work on creating a top 10 document with training recommendations for the GM role, ensuring that our GMs have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • You will work on creating a par levels document for all roles and complexes to ensure that we have sufficient staff to manage our facilities.
  • You will work on creating a uniform lookbook for all roles and positions to ensure that staff members are easily identifiable and present a professional image.
  • You will assist in finishing the building out of our F&B discount program, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible value.
  • You assist with building out new AOP files and processes to improve our business operations.
Abilities, Attributes and Experience
  • Currently enrolled in a sports management, business development or related program
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of sports management and operations preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
