POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Stationary Engineer, you will be responsible for the meticulous maintenance and operation of all HVAC conditioning and refrigeration systems. Your expertise will ensure the optimal environmental conditions for our collections. You will conduct daily inspections of all Facilities equipment, perform chemical water analyses, and ensure the safe operation of all systems. Proficiency in Siemens Life Safety systems is vital, as you will be responsible for after-hours response to building systems issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform demand maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and make recommendations for improvements or repairs.
  • Analyze water chemistry for chilled/condenser water and heating systems.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of ROM equipment, including emergency response.
  • Manage and operate complex operational systems including fire alarms, building electrical systems, and energy management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Stationary Engineer (3rd class) license is a mandatory requirement
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a large building complex, focusing on maintenance of building, electrical, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • In-depth understanding of operational systems: Siemens Fire Alarm, J.C. Metasys Systems, Johnson Pneumatic Controls, emergency diesel generators, building electrical and fire protection systems, HVAC, lighting automation, and energy conservation.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Availability for weekend work is essential (Friday, Saturday, Sunday & one additional Weekday) 10-hour shifts.
