Central Interior Native Health Society (CINHS) is an innovative primary health care (PHC) center located in Prince George, British Columbia, on the unceded traditional territories of the Dakelh people

CINHS is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team who is passionate about creating a warm, inviting and culturally safe place for Central Interior Native Health clients. The Support Worker assists in implementing and supporting Natsoolyis' cultural and life skills programs.

Reporting to the Natsoolyis' Coordinator, the Support Worker will be responsible for picking up clients, preparing meals, performing administrative functions, and supporting outreach programs at the center.

Who we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in support work or a related field is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy and patience when working with individuals facing various challenges
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and problem-solve effectively
  • Holds a valid Class 5, BC Driver's license
  • Comfortable with computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and other digital skills
  • Holds First Aid certification would be an asset
  • Holds Food Safe Training and Certification would be an asset

The successful candidate will demonstrate

  • Ability to work with individuals and families affected by substance use, mental health challenges, colonization, residential/day schools, and TB hospitals experiences.
  • Ability to work in Indigenous wellness center and support Indigenous worldviews
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a respectful manner
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
  • Additionally, the successful candidate is compassionate, empathetic and community-minded
  • De-escalation and conflict resolution skills (preferred)
