Acro Commerce is seeking a skilled Product Owner to join our team! As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of our projects in a Scrum environment. You will work closely with the Project Manager (Scrum Master) and stakeholders to optimize the product backlog and maximize the value of our products and services.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and communicate business and end-user needs. You will serve as a subject matter expert on the product and collaborate closely with various stakeholders. Your role will involve creating and managing the product backlog, prioritizing user stories, and ensuring the backlog reflects the current understanding of the end product.

As the successful candidate, here are some things you'll be responsible for:

  • Producing high-quality work adhering to Acro Commerce standards and following the Acro Commerce production process
  • Act as a subject matter expert on our client's product, understanding and communicating the business and end-user needs.
  • Communicate the vision of the product and define clear success criteria with measurable KPIs.
  • Maximize the value addition of the services developed by the Scrum team.
  • Collaborate and work closely with stakeholders, including customers, business leaders, development teams, and project managers.
  • Create the product roadmap in collaboration with the client and development team.
  • Own the product backlog and ensure its quality, managing each user story from creation to delivery.
  • Populate the product backlog by creating user stories and tasks based on the story map and emergent requirements.
  • Prioritize the product backlog, gathering input from stakeholders and the project team to determine impact, priority, and ROI.
  • Monitor task estimates and actual time spent on tickets, highlighting trends during retrospectives.
  • Conduct initial QA of tickets before they are reviewed by the client.
  • Utilize epics to organize the backlog and keep timelines up-to-date.
  • Define release slices based on project goals and milestones.
  • Attend and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, demos, and launches.
  • Provide guidance on priorities and overall direction during sprint planning, defining the sprint goal.
  • Play an active role in backlog grooming sessions, including story estimation, story splitting, and writing acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager (Scrum Master) to remove blockers and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Be available to the project team, answering questions and providing requirement clarifications.
  • Promote agile methodology and the Scrum framework within the organization.
  • Champion the delivery of value, ensuring the final product meets business needs, delivers maximum value, and delights users.
  • Collaborate with the client to identify desired business outcomes and prioritize requirements.
  • Act as the liaison between the client and the project team, maintaining consistent communication.
  • Gather, organize, and triage client requests, collect client feedback, and share it with the project team.
  • Use data-driven insights to assess project progress and make necessary adjustments.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Product Owner or related role.
  • Strong understanding of agile principles and the Scrum framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • PMP and/or certifications in agile, PMP, and scrum (ex: PMI-ACP or CSPO) are considered an asset
