Job Title: Civil Engineering Manager

KM Civil, a leading construction firm specializing in civil engineering projects, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead a small team in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth and success of KM Civil within the Krahn Group of Companies.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of KM Civil Consultants at the Edmonton office; including staff and client management, budgets and schedules and reporting.
  • Participate in the development and management of production and service quality standards for KM Civil Consultants Ltd.
  • Prepare civil engineering designs for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Complete detailed stormwater management, sanitary conveyance and plumbing, and water distribution design calculations.
  • Coordinate with clients, outside consultants, and municipalities during the design and approval process as well as during construction.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines both within the Krahn Group of Companies and with outside consultants.
  • Recruit, mentor and manage the performance of KM Civil Consultants Ltd. at the Edmonton location.
  • Responsible to achieve 600,000 CDN Dollars in project fees per annum and per office within the designated territory; other specific targets will be set with the President & CEO.
  • Be an active member on approved boards and associations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software, CAD software, and other relevant technical tools.
  • Sound knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and environmental sustainability in engineering practices.
