Bookkeeper

Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE) is a non-profit, charitable organization serving Windsor and Essex County. In support of the mission and mandate of Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE), the incumbent supports the Coordinator of Finance.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate and timely reports on the Agency's finances on a regular basis.
  • Maintaining accurate and current financial records for the Agency.
  • Recording all financial transactions.
  • Issuing invoices for services rendered by the Agency in a timely fashion.
  • Completing billings in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitoring receivables and ensuring collection by contacting parties with outstanding receivables.
  • Preparing monthly receivables report.
  • Receiving and recording all revenue from a variety of sources.
  • Ensuring vendors of the agency are paid and that invoicing is accurate.
  • Ensuring that all government remittances are paid in full and on time.
  • Preparing financial and statistical reports to Agency funders.
  • Maintaining copies of accurate and complete information in an organized and clearly labelled manner.
  • Working with the external auditor to prepare the annual audit report.

Education and Experience Required

  • Minimum College Diploma in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of accounting or finance
  • Knowledge of principles of accounting.
  • Knowledge of various accounting software, including QuickBooks (required)
  • Proven computer literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to speak French is considered an asset

Job Type

  • Full-time Monday-Friday (35 hours per week)
  • $49,638 per annum.
