Our client is seeking for a Senior Android Developer to work collaboratively with the wider Development team based in Edmonton, and alongside the Design team. This role will lead and mentor other developers and oversee their work.
Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced tools and applications for the Android platform and new features.
• Create a full range of unit/automated tests to ensure SDKs are reliable and optimized.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, estimate timeframes, and ship new features.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance to continuously discover, evaluate, implement, and learn new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Provide mentorship, technical analysis, design, and consulting skills to the Development team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering in a technical engineering discipline, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in Android Development, and experience with both Java and Kotlin languages
• Thorough understanding of Android Architecture Components such as Room, Data Binding, and Live Data.
• Strong understanding of Kotlin coroutines and MVVM
• Strong knowledge in Git workflows and Agile development
• Advanced knowledge of Android API Level 19+
• Experience with GitHub, Google Play, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Flurry, MixPanel, etc.
• Have published at least one app on the Google Play Store
