We are currently seeking a proactive Manager of Introductory Skating and Hockey Programs, to be situated at our corporate office in North York, Ontario.

Join our team as the dynamic Manager of Hockey and Skating Programs, driving the excitement in Canlan Sports' youth and adult introductory hockey and skating products. Your mission: sculpting unforgettable experiences through Learn to Skate, igniting the passion for hockey with Learn to Play programs, and fostering skill development in a thrilling and enjoyable environment. Be the expert of product standards, elevate the value proposition, and collaborate with internal partners to create programs that are not just about fun but are a celebration of on-ice skill development!

Qualifications and Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Recreation, Facility Management or a combination of experience and education.
  • Certification in Standard First Aid/AED an asset.
  • Possess and/or willing to obtain and submit a satisfactory vulnerable sector police check.

Abilities, Attributes and Experience

  • Three to Five years successful supervisory experience in a Sports related business.
  • Demonstrated strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and refining program standards, standard operating procedures, and best practices for instructional programs and camps
  • Strong knowledge and experience in a variety of sports including Hockey, Ringette, Figure Skating, and Soccer.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure clarity in program delivery accountabilities.
  • Experience as an escalation point for program-related inquiries, showcasing the ability to address and resolve issues effectively.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to continuously improve and differentiate Canlan's programs in the market.
  • Track record of achieving participation targets, revenue targets, and managing expenses while maintaining instructor to participant ratio.
  • Experience in implementing strategies to maximize program revenue and control costs without compromising quality.
  • Previous sports management experience is an asset.
