The Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the successful execution of technical projects at COVE. This includes on-shore and off-shore innovative projects that will include a diverse group of stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the management of timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure project objectives are met in line with scope recommendations related to testing and validation.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing and coordinating project activities to ensure timely and successful project delivery through the full technical project lifecycle.
    • Leading projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budgets, estimations, implementation plans and risk mitigation.
    • Tracking project performance and analyzing deliverables.
    • Reporting project outcomes to management.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with project team members and external partners to ensure effective collaboration, adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers.
  • Ensuring effective utilization of staff across project teams to ensure maximum performance, providing direction, and liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement strategy with key entities such as government, education, environmental organizations, and Indigenous and local communities.
  • Managing project risks, identifying dependencies, and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Tracking project performance and preparing regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with project management best practices and industry standards.
  • Adhering to COVE's human resource policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, environmental-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years' relevant experience with at least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with marine/ocean sector programs and the deployment of equipment offshore.
  • Excellent leadership, management, stakeholder engagement, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work autonomously or in collaborative team environment.
  • Experience developing project management plans, including objectives and the terms of reference for project teams as required.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and vendors.
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

Additional Assets:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Agile or other project management frameworks.
  • Experience with environmental Assessment, Regulatory Compliance, Protection Planning & Permitting.
