Purpose:
Reporting to the Customer Care Manager (Parts & Service), the Junior Service Technician will primarily be responsible for In-house machines testing. As skills develop, promotion will be awarded to Service Technician position, other responsibilities will include replying to in-coming Service requests from customers needing technical assistance, and on-site repair/installations & training
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for in-house project and non-project equipment testing:·
- Reviewing orders prior to testing.·
- Managing customer food products that are required for testing.
- Coordinating with the Project Team and Assembly Team regarding testing schedules.
- Performing Custom Parts Testing (CS Test): Manually validate and confirm custom parts orders.
- Performing Functional Test: Testing the electrical and mechanical functions of Standard equipment without product to verify the general function as per the Sales Order.
- Performing WET Test: Testing equipment with products such as cake icings and food products to verify performance as per the Order Confirmation.
- Providing reports of identifying/resolve issues during equipment testing.
- Cleaning up and re-organizing the test area
- Junior Service Technician must be able to tackle assignments with minimal supervision.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Emphasis on Mechanical, Pneumatic & Electrical, with some education &/or experience with Electronics &/or Trade Qualifications in these areas.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a related field.
- Able to solve problems independently and make recommendations for Continuous Improvement
- Ability to interact professionally with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds and cultures internally and externally.
- Experience with troubleshooting (i) PLC control systems, HMI, and industrial networks (ex. PLC/HMI by Allen Bradley, Unitronics), (ii) pneumatic, VFD and Servo control components, their function and configuration is an asset.
- Proficient with MS Office, with excellence in Word, Excell, Outlook, and MSTeams.
- Must have a valid driver's license; for business trips - a valid Passport for international travel.
- Priority consideration is given to candidates with experience in the food production industry, &/or &/or CRM Salesforce / Service Cloud, &/or bilingual English/Spanish.
