We're seeking for an Accounting Manager, to join our client, a 3PL provider serving clients across North America and around the world. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this new role is responsible for the execution of the month-end and year-end accounting processes and supporting the Administration Manager in managing payable and receivable cycles.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for month-end close and reporting processes, including:
    • Identifying and performing adjusting journal entries
    • Completing balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations
    • Budget variance analysis
    • Completion of financial reporting package
  • Coordinate year-end audit
  • Various tax fillings including monthly GST remittances and review of corporate tax returns
  • Assist with creation of annual budget
  • Support the Administration Manager by helping resolve exceptions to the payables, receivables, and billing processes
  • Oversee corporate insurance, including coordinating with insurers on the annual renewal
  • Drive insights and reduce workload by helping leverage technology and business intelligence tools
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Update or create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the role
  • Various other duties as required

Requirements:
  • CPA or other relevant designation required (CMA, CGA, CA)
  • 5+ years of relevant, progressive experience
  • Experience within the transportation industry is an asset
  • Experience with full cycle accounting
  • An interest in technology and leveraging business intelligence (BI) to drive improvement
  • Systems experience, especially with TruckMate or other Transportation Management Software is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
  • Understand and practice the importance of private and confidential information
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals
