We're seeking for an Accounting Manager, to join our client, a 3PL provider serving clients across North America and around the world. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this new role is responsible for the execution of the month-end and year-end accounting processes and supporting the Administration Manager in managing payable and receivable cycles.

- Responsible for month-end close and reporting processes, including:
- Identifying and performing adjusting journal entries
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations
- Budget variance analysis
- Completion of financial reporting package
- Coordinate year-end audit
- Various tax fillings including monthly GST remittances and review of corporate tax returns
- Assist with creation of annual budget
- Support the Administration Manager by helping resolve exceptions to the payables, receivables, and billing processes
- Oversee corporate insurance, including coordinating with insurers on the annual renewal
- Drive insights and reduce workload by helping leverage technology and business intelligence tools
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
- Update or create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the role
- Various other duties as required
Requirements:
- CPA or other relevant designation required (CMA, CGA, CA)
- 5+ years of relevant, progressive experience
- Experience within the transportation industry is an asset
- Experience with full cycle accounting
- An interest in technology and leveraging business intelligence (BI) to drive improvement
- Systems experience, especially with TruckMate or other Transportation Management Software is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic and superior attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Understand and practice the importance of private and confidential information
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term goals
