Job Title: Sr. AWS Cloud EngineerJob ID: KB319398725Location: Toronto, ON - HybridOverview:Our client is a specialist in providing financial services to alternative investment funds, investors, multinationals, and private clients worldwide. As a core member of their Cloud Management team, you will operate within a team of Cloud Engineers and be primarily tasked with supporting the development of cloud-native applications and the migration of on-prem applications to a public cloud. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on developing next-generation public cloud Infrastructure capabilities as well as supporting platform in the public cloud. This position reports to the VP of Cloud Management and is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative and technically complex world.What you will be doing:
- You will be responsible for the effective and efficient operations of infrastructure and applications deployed in cloud environments, in production
- Define, customize, and improve the cloud operating model
- Drive Well-Architected Review for new or migrating applications, with a focus on the reliability and operational excellence pillars
- Assist with the maturation of existing pipelines, AMI's, patching solutions and infrastructure monitoring
- Assist where needed with the establishment, administration, and enforcement of user access controls
- Pipeline administration and ensure all teams utilize Infrastructure as Code to effect change and that the environment features the required controls and audit components to validate resource compliance
- Define and implement all operational components required to proactively monitor and manage the production environment, identify operational issues and maintain efficient operations
- Lead team through all service disruptions to ensure services are restored. Drive root cause analysis and remediation initiatives post any service disruption.
- Assist other technology teams within the Infrastructure Services group “transition” to cloud
- You have operational experience with one or more of the following AWS management tools; CloudTrail, CloudWatch, CloudFormation and OpsWorks
- 3+ years of experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions on AWS
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet/Chef)
- Experience of Automating Infrastructure deployment
- Demonstrate hands on working knowledge with AWS and its services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Python and Aurora
- Experience in Software-Defined-Networks, Software-Defined-Data-Centers, Virtual Private Clouds and other core network technology
- Experienced with DevOps & ITIL
- Experience with multiple cloud platforms (GCP or Azure), plus
