Doman Building Materials is an exciting place to work as a Pricing Clerk. With a wide range of product lines and operations across Canada, the Pricing Clerk will support our Sales teams by standardizing price lists nationally and validating orders for accuracy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Product pricing is an essential component of a sale. This position is key to helping the Sales teams of our Doman Building Materials Division with identifying pricing variances and managing sales order pricing.

You will be an integral part of our Pricing team and a member of a 40-person Finance Department. You will be mainly responsible for accurately and efficiently updating product prices in our ERP system, JD Edwards. The role is key in supporting the maintenance of our national advanced pricing model database.

Working collaboratively across multiple time zones, you will connect with Product Managers, Sales Managers, and Purchasers from our branches across Canada to standardize price lists for ease of processing. You will also review completed sales for accuracy and identify areas of improvement with our pricing models.

In addition to managing product pricing, you will assist with ad hoc development projects to improve our current processes in several departments, increasing workflow efficiency and improving accuracy.

ABOUT YOU

You are passionate and have expertise in working with numbers and Microsoft Excel, while eager to learn new programs and systems. You want to fully utilize the tools available to you; looking ahead to improve processes to work efficiently over time.

You are comfortable with providing support to various teams and troubleshooting issues that arise. You can recognize discrepancies within patterns, using your analytical skills and attention to detail to define areas of improvement with existing workflows.

Requirements

SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Minimum two years of Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting experience
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Prior experience with using Visual Basic (VBA) Excel macros is considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to learn and adapt to using new programs and processes. Experience with Microsoft Access or JD Edwards, or QuickView is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while manipulating large data sets
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, and work under tight reporting deadlines

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting
