We are currently looking to add a Machine Operator to our Environmental team.

Responsibilities:

As a Environmental Machine Operator you will be responsible for the following:

  • Operating machinery to construct environmental projects and work in environmentally sensitive areas
  • Work with environmental team on the ground (Approx. 50% in machine, 50% on the ground) to enhance habitats and infrastructure, stabilize slopes, and plant and restore vegetation
  • Mobilization and demobilization of equipment to and from the job sites
  • Complete daily equipment servicing checklists and reporting for deficiencies
  • Schedule repairs and maintenance with Project Managers and repair shops

What we are looking for:

  • Machine Operator certificate, or equivalent with 3+ years of experience (excavator, skid steer, loader, etc.)
  • Experience working on trails or ecological construction (rip rap, in-stream) projects an asset
  • Understanding of Federal and Provincial environmental regulations an asset, environmentally sensitive mindset a requirement
  • Passionate about all things outdoors like mountain biking, hiking, climbing, etc.
  • Familiar with working long hours in the outdoors
  • Adventurous self-starter with integrity
  • Willing to be flexible beyond that of just operating machinery
  • Willing to assist recreation, and fuel mitigation projects as needed
  • Alignment with Cabin core values and Mission Statement
