Volunteer Opportunity: Reintegration Fundraiser!

Newmarket Bingo is open again for charity volunteers. John Howard Society of York Region (JHSYR) is extremely fortunate to have been chosen as a charity recipient of funds raised through Bingo sessions held at Bingo World in Newmarket. These funds go directly to our Reintegration Support Services program. Each Bingo volunteer shift generates approximately $1,600. Our Reintegration program aims to increase the capacity of individuals and families to work towards independence and stability. Through the provision of supports to access employment, education, life skills, housing and food security, the goal of this program is to accelerate the reintegration of clients into the community and lower the rates of recidivism.

WE ARE IN NEED of Bingo Volunteers that are available for two or more shifts on a Saturday evening (between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm). Volunteer(s) will do each shift with one other volunteer. Feel free to refer other potential volunteers to our organization. We have many open shifts available and we hope you can volunteer soon to help.

Volunteers will represent JHSYR, assist the players, and support Bingo World staff. Bingo volunteering is fun, rewarding, and your time contributions will directly impact families in need!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome customers at the main entrance and thank them for their charitable support
• Provide information on games, programs, and promotions; answer customer questions
• Circulate the facility
• Assist facility staff as needed
• Assist in maintaining a tidy environment
  
• Support with charity awareness

REQUIREMENTS:

• 18 years or older
• Wear required dress code (white collared shirt, black pants, closed toe shoes)
• Acknowledge and abide by the mission and values of JHSYR
