We have an exciting opportunity to join our Team as we are actively recruiting for a Controls Engineering Technician. This position reports to the Controls Engineering Technician Leader.

What we're looking for

• Creation, development and integration of Process and Safety PLC programs
• Understanding and setup of machine communication protocols
• Design of HMI graphics, system diagnostics, status and alarm messaging
• Robot integration (Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, Nachi, Motoman, Panasonic etc.) for process applications ranging from GMA (gas metal arc) welding, resistance spot welding, material handling, continuous path dispensing, vision etc.
• Configuration and integration of Resistance weld controllers & GMA power sources
• Integration of multi axis servo systems & VFD's (variable frequency drives)
• Vision system configuration and debug
• Machine start up and onsite commissioning at customers facility (valid passport, drivers license & ability to travel outside of Canada required)

What you need to succeed

• Post-secondary Technical diploma or Engineering degree related to Controls
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Understanding of resistance and arc welding processes
• Experience with installation and commissioning
• Excellent organizational skills
• Flexible schedule
