If you said "yes!" and have a strong attention to detail and a strong work-ethic, then we have a position for you! We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and the skills to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.

This is an on-site, full-time position, with the potential of weekend or evening shifts depending on the production schedule. If you do not have a valid Work Permit in progress or approved, please apply when you do have one.

Full time employees are eligible to join our competitive benefits program after six months of employment; a portion of the monthly fees will be paid by cōchu.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Canadian Work Permit
  • Hands-on chocolate experience and understanding of chocolate theory is an asset.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into any task with a smile.
  • Ability to work well with your hands and handle delicate items with care, while still maintaining efficiency.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working directly with the head chocolatier in various capacities to acquire chocolate-making skills and independence in a variety of production areas, such as enrobing, molding and capping bonbons, making 3D figures and bars, etc. by hand.
  • Food preparation: making caramel, ganache, fruit purees, pate de fruit, and other crystalline confections.
  • Cleaning and preparing moulds and trays for production.
  • Inventory management and compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Complete records accurately and consistently
  • Maintaining a clean and organized space, following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to meet AHS regulations.
  • Occasional support in packaging and retail may be requested.

Salary compensation is based on experience and ranges from $31,200 - $39,500 per year.
