JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Associate Director, Fundraising & Partnerships, the Manager, Fundraising is responsible for the implementation of Praxis' fundraising strategies: identifying prospective supporters and developing and coordinating cultivation; and solicitation and stewardship strategies and materials. The Manager, Fundraising leads the annual & monthly giving and third-party fundraising portfolios and the organization's fundraising communications.

The Manager, Fundraising is central to building the framework, strategies and best practices for Praxis fundraising activities and supports the Director, Fund Development & PLEX in delivering the major gift, corporate and foundation portfolios. The role manages the department's donor database and administrative responsibilities. All strategies and activities will align with the strategic direction of the organization and in accordance with ethical fundraising principles.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the development and delivery of Praxis' fundraising strategic framework and internal processes.
  • Coordinate the delivery of donor cycle activities: prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for major individual, corporate and foundation donors.
  • Manage and execute annual giving campaigns and associated direct giving campaigns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Praxis' annual and monthly donors, community and corporate supporters, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development and production of compelling cases for support, funding proposals, and other tools to communicate Praxis' funding priorities.
  • In collaboration with Marketing & Communications, develop, implement and monitor fundraising communications, including newsletters, website and social media.
  • Implement and oversee effective stewardship strategies for all corporate and individual donors.
  • Provide ongoing support to third-party fundraisers to help expand their fundraising activities and ensure integration of Praxis branding and messaging.
  • Ensure recognition and reporting requirements are met for all fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintain an accurate and current donor database that tracks key information, histories and communication touchpoints.
  • Maintain an awareness of current fundraising programs, best practices and trends.
  • Manage the administration of the Fund Development department, including financial tracking and reporting, donor agreements, cost projections, purchase orders, and ensuring tax receipting is delivered in accordance with CRA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required by Praxis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in communications, fundraising, marketing or a related discipline.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a range of fundraising and marketing activities in a Canadian charity environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a fundraising leadership role.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects, events and/or programs.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to manage complex issues and prioritizing multiple portfolios.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to cultivate donors and build long-term, meaningful relationships.
  • Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills with attention to detail and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in deploying technology (graphic design tools, CRM systems, Microsoft Office) to enhance workflow and deliverables.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments through flexibility and resiliency.
  • High standards of integrity, sound judgement and confidentiality.
