We are currently seeking a part time Senior Insurance Accountant to assist Financial Controller. The incumbent will be responsible for administering various financial, accounting, and banking activities for the company. The incumbent will be responsible for executing duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with all pre-determined standards.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

• Provide support to the Financial Controller regarding Erie's finance reporting.
• Work with the Financial Controller to develop and implement sound policies and procedures to protect the financial integrity and interests of the company
  
• Perform accounts analysis and reconciliations.
• Assist the external auditors during the interim and year-end audits
• Experience with Insurance Accounting would be an asset.
• Perform other duties as required.

Working Conditions:
-This is a temporary (1.5 years) part-time position.

-Hours of work are flexible: Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

-Working environment is remote with occasional in office visits - generally agreeable conditions

-No overtime is associated with this position

Qualifications:

-5+ years work experience in accounting role

-Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance

-Knowledge of insurance accounting is a definite asset

-Strong computer skills in programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

-Demonstrated aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information

-Professional, respectful, and approachable, in all interactions
