Our client have initiated a project in support of desktop Win 7 upgrade to various platforms including Win 10, workspace virtualization, SAAS, etc. The initiative is in part motivated by Microsoft's new technology / operating system roadmap (SAC) and upcoming Win 7 end of life / support. They will be completing this upgrade in close partnership and collaboration with clinical and business stakeholders ensuring a strong focus on a positive user experience and optimized technical implementation. This is a complex upgrade and transition requiring deliberate planning, engagement, and implementation which needs the help of a VDI Technical Support Analyst.
Your responsibilities as the VDP Technical Support Analyst, include but not limited to the administration, configuration, support and maintenance of VDI technical architecture and related application solutions across the organization. You will support other functions including VDI thin client implementation, work with key stakeholders including Service Providers, technical teams, and other external resources in a test environment as well as with clients in an administrative capacity in a production environment. You commit to and pursue continuous quality improvement according to IT Service Management best practices.
Qualifications:
  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a degree in information technology or related discipline.
  • One or more related certifications such as VMWare certification, Citrix certificationor Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification.
  • 5 to 7 years of recent related experience with IT disciplines from an enterprise environment in a large, complex, multi-site organization.
  • Knowledge of and working experience with current, emerging and transformational technologies including but not limited to Thin Client / VDI technology (VMWare, Citrix), XenApp, cloud and managed services, Unidesk, Uniprint, VMWare/VMSphere, Hyperconverge, Nutanix, and Active Directory.
  • Prior experience with defining core infrastructure requirements in areas such as file management, SQL, storage, network architecture, and servers as well as IT lab administration including servers and security.
  • Skills:
    • Deliver bridging solutions in support of desktops across business and clinical areas Win 7 to Win 10 environments (i.e., supporting application virtualization solutions like Turbo).
    • Provides critical technical support for automated remote discovery applications (Nlyte, Juriba, Lansweeper) that drives significant data analysis for application usage, compliance and licensing improvement and cost savings.
    • Validates Windows 10 images and providing tier 2 and 3 support including Group Policy Objects (GPOs) / DEM for VDI.
    • Validates Windows 10 feature releases, patches and updates for VDI.
  • Provide lab services in support of application testing and deployment readiness activities.
