Our client, an internationally recognized professional services firm has an immediate opening for a high-performing US Junior Tax Associate in their Alberta, Canada office. This position offers the opportunity to work with a team of professionals whose expertise in cross-border tax is second to none, make an impact, see the positive results of your actions, and play an integral role in the firm's success through your efforts. This associate will work with a team of Canadian and US lawyers and accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients.
- Review corporate federal and state income tax returns including international disclosures.
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusions.
- Communicate with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Consult, work with, and service client to make recommendations on business and process improvement.
- Tax preparation include C-Corps, S-Corps, and Partnerships.
- Perform tax services including tax planning and research utilizing cloud-based engagement software.
- Keep up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or upcoming graduates
- Active CPA license required.
- Experience in or completed courses in International Taxation preferred.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and AICPA rules and standards.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
- Demonstrate understanding of tax preparation software.
