About Us:

Canadian Parents for French is a nationwide, research-informed, volunteer organization that furthers bilingualism by promoting opportunities to learn and use French for all those who call Canada home. We are actively recruiting for a full time Finance Coordinator who will support the Director of Finance and the Network HR Manager. This role presents an opportunity for individuals keen on advancing their career within Finance, with aspirations to grow into a Finance managerial role in the future.

About the Role:

Working closely with both the Finance and Human Resources groups, you will be responsible for maintaining data integrity in various Finance and HR systems, notably QBO – Quick Books Online, Wagepoint, Hubdoc, BambooHR and Better Impact, our volunteer management software.

Finance Responsibility:

Your primary focus is on AP and payroll

Apply proper general ledger codes to invoices and receipts prior to publishing transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounting software.

  • Manage invoices and expense receipts on Hubdoc (Data Capture Software).
  • Reconcile various credit cards and bank account statements via QBO.
  • Liaison with credit owner to ensure necessary receipts are on hand.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll via Wagepoint.

Human Resources Responsibility:

Your primary focus is data integrity of employee and volunteer records.

  • Assist in the maintenance and optimization of BambooHR and Better Impact platforms.
  • Input, update and maintain employee records and volunteer screening and records data.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and validation processes.
  • As needed, assist the Network HR Manager in posting job opportunities, and the administrative elements of employee onboarding and the performance review process.


About You:

  • Tech savvy. You will continuously look for ways to implement technology to further increase efficiencies and save everyone time.

Education and Experience:

  • Post Secondary degree in Finance or Formal Accounting training at a Community College.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as accounting assistant or bookkeeper.
  • Experience in HR considered an asset.
  • Experience with the software and platforms noted above is considered an asset.
