PTW is hiring a Project Manager/Estimator to join our Panel Shop team in Rockyview County, AB!

A DAY IN THE LIFE…

Reporting to the Panel Shop Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for the execution of control panel and automation projects from conception to completion. The Project Manager is also responsible for estimating functions and management of the Calgary panel shop.

  • Orders materials for stock and projects.
  • Directs project teams, delegates responsibilities and follows up on action items.
  • May be required to perform some construction duties on the shop floor.
  • Provides vacation relief for branch management, foreman, and lead hand.
  • Follows up on change orders on a timely basis and analyzes each project's budget forecast.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, on budget and according to customer expectations, exceeding requirements where possible.
  • Ensures completion activities are documented for project close out.
  • Delivers the Quality Management Plan and associated Inspection Test Plan.
  • Prepares and/or coordinates the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build, general tender or proposed work packages for additional work.
  • Looks to maximize labour efficiencies to increase profit margins of the business.
  • Reviews estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness of work pricing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman Electrician and/or Instrumentation Technician/Mechanic Certification is required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of project management or estimating experience required.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work.
  • Good problem solver and critical thinker.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints including isometric drawings.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Exceptional time-management skills.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Must have own vehicle to get to and from work as the location is not accessible by public transportation.
  • May be required to work on the tools as an electrician in some cases.
  • Superior analytical and problem- solving skills.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
