One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a 5th or a 4th Class Engineer in Delta, BC region.
SHIFT- Monday to Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm - 8hrs Shift
JOB TYPE- Full-time
Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and repair stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, compressors, and steam-driven engines.
Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure proper operation of equipment and adjust controls as needed to maintain proper operating parameters.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machinery, replacing worn or defective parts, and cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance to facilitate reporting and ensure accountability.
Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance personnel to coordinate work activities, share knowledge, and address operational challenges effectively.
Respond promptly to emergency situations such as equipment failures, leaks, or power outages to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to operations.
Qualifications:
Possession of a valid 5th or a 4th class Class Engineer license or certification issued by relevant regulatory authorities.
Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, and pumps, with a strong understanding of related systems and components.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions effectively, utilizing analytical skills and technical knowledge to identify and implement solutions.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations and procedures, with a focus on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and emergency preparedness.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicate technical information clearly, and follow instructions accurately.
Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks, recording data, and following procedures to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
