We're looking for an Event Marketing Specialist to join our team and be part of our next stage of growth. This role is part of our growing marketing team working in partnership with our sales, engagement and support teams. The event experiences range from hosting our own in-person events, supporting industry conferences as sponsors or attendees, and producing regular virtual webinars. Our customers love to get together and this role will facilitate those important connections.

Who we are

Traction Rec empowers customers with great technology. Built on the Salesforce platform, we enable YMCA's, Jewish Community Centers (JCC's), and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) to deliver their services and achieve their missions. At the heart of Traction Rec is our desire to support non-profit community centers and the amazing good they do.

Traction Rec was recently recognized by Salesforce as Nonprofit Sales Partner of the Year, ISV Partner of the Year, and featured in the 2021 Ready to Rocket List. Traction Rec takes pride in the development of product and services, and building strong relationships with partners and customers.

At our core, we love community. We are looking for people who want to join an active group of engaged individuals who see business as more than just a vehicle to make money. We care about our people, wider community, and planet. We welcome you to experience a vibrant personal and professional journey by joining our diverse team.

Skills

Traction Rec'rs come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from diverse backgrounds. Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:

  • Bachelor's degree in or diploma in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in event planning, ideally within B2B SaaS/Tech.
  • You're a creative thinker who's comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth, and changing environments.
  • You have exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously - both in person and virtual.
  • You're a natural communicator, able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with internal teams or with external partners.
  • You have a knack for negotiating agreements, experience managing budgets and a sharp eye for detail.
  • You're adaptable and thrive in environments where no two days are the same.
  • You're a self-starter who thrives in small teams.
  • Bonus points if:
    • You've worked in nonprofit, community centers.
    • You've worked in the Salesforce ecosystem.
    • You're a results oriented person who likes to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
    • You're energized by a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Event Strategy & Execution: Design and implement a robust calendar of virtual and in-person events, from user meetings and webinars to large-scale conferences and trade shows. You're ready to be on the ground executing or behind the Zoom screen for virtual events. Your goal is to create buzz, foster connections, and generate leads.
  • Vendor & Venue Management: Scout and secure venues that align with our brand's vibe. Negotiate with vendors, manage contracts, and ensure we're on budget without compromising on quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Product, and Engagement teams to ensure event objectives align with broader company goals. A well run event is as much about the internal team as it is about external execution.
  • Content & Promotional Strategies: Collaborate with your Marketing teammates to develop event-related content and promotional strategies that stir excitement and anticipation. Think email campaigns, social media blasts, and engaging blog posts that align to the overall Traction Rec brand.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use metrics to measure event success and ROI. Your decisions are guided by data, and you look for ways to optimize our events strategy to drive better results.
  • Attendee Experience: Ensure every attendee, whether online or offline, leaves our events feeling more connected to our brand and eager to engage further. Our attendee's experience is key, and you're always thinking of innovative ways to enhance their experience.
  • From time to time, you'll need to be onsite to execute an event so be prepared to travel.
