Role Summary

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Business Analyst is an integral part of the team and serves as a liaison between business requirements and software functionalities working directly with key internal and external partners regarding the OHS Resource Centre project. The Senior Business Analyst analyzes, documents, and manages business and solution requirements. As a subject matter expert, the Senior Business Analyst uses exceptional analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and project management methodologies to fulfill the role.

This is a temporary full-time position with an end date of March 31, 2026.

Please note that this is a remote worker position (must reside in BC) and only candidates that live in BC will be interviewed. Occasional travel for in-person events is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supports leadership in product analysis and solution recommendations by performing duties such as evaluating information from various sources to propose innovative solutions, analyzing feedback and reconciling conflicts. Distinguishes between user requests and genuine needs, and challenging business assumptions.
  2. Collaborates and provides project support including ensuring continual alignment of goals with project development, analyzing project delivery and effectiveness, communicating findings and recommendations to project leaders. Supports the prioritization of change requests, bug fixes, and ongoing development. Elicits business requirements from partners and subject matter experts, fostering consensus on new features, changes or bug fixes.
  3. Serves as a liaison between business, technology and support teams, overseeing the implementation of documentation, testing, training and change management processes.
  4. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Analytics, Health Information Science, or Computer Science plus five (5) years of recent related experience including experience in a software development environment.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective liaison between partners and technical teams.
  • Superior written skills with a high degree of producing concise, structured and well written documents and reports.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) to
    create, modify, and format various documents, reports, and presentations at an advanced level.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, while working independently to organize workload, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge and adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies and measures to protect data.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable in software development lifecycle and project management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior degree of critical-thinking and analytical skills with the ability to integrate broad system thinking/perspective with data to develop quality reports, operational plans and monitor on-going performance.

Typical Hiring Range: $86,398 - $102,597

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience as well as internal equity, and would be in alignment with SWITCH BC's compensation framework.
