As the Senior Digital Fundraising Strategist, you will play a critical role in driving organic growth for our clients, understanding their business needs, nurturing strong relationships, and leading a high-performing digital team. With your extensive knowledge of digital marketing, you will translate digital trends and strategies into actionable solutions, influence client decision-making, and position the agency as an essential strategic partner.

A day in the life of:

  • With your expertise in digital marketing, you'll establish key strategic objectives for our nonprofit clients
  • After you've developed the strategic digital fundraising strategy, you'll work with internal teams to execute the strategy, ensuring flawless execution and active optimization of digital campaigns against authored plans
  • Communicate the plan to clients and continue measuring its success through testing, data analysis, and insights

What you'll do:

Strategic Digital Fundraising

  • Using your extensive knowledge of digital marketing and the evolving technology landscape, develop fundraising strategies and offer strategic thought leadership to build measurable and actionable digital fundraising campaigns
  • Lead strategic planning and brainstorming sessions on the development of the campaign creative and messaging to meet objectives, partnering with internal teams to deliver outcomes-focused solutions
  • Understand how digital strategies, tactics, and tracking need to be constructed for effective monitoring, evaluation, and presentation of campaign results
  • Analyze results from primary research to ensure insights are integrated into future work; adapt digital marketing strategies to reflect changes in customer behaviors
  • Understand and apply user experience best practices to build customer journeys through email and landing page design
  • Evaluate new technologies and marketing opportunities as they emerge and take an active lead on advancing the agency's digital capabilities, emerging digital trends, ideas, and best practices within the digital space and fundraising sector
  • Standardize and evolve the core process and workflows to support standalone digital fundraising campaign development and optimization, from client discovery through final reporting

Team Leadership

  • Develop and lead the Digital team, providing them with ongoing training, support, and feedback to ensure their success
  • Along with the VP, develop key metrics and goals for the team and individual team members to support their development and ensure the team is meeting the company's digital goals and objectives
  • Work closely with HR and the VP on workforce planning initiatives to ensure staffing requirements are met and planned for
  • Monitor employee engagement to ensure the team is functioning well and working at optimal capacity

Who you are:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, advertising, digital design, or similar area
  • 5+ years' progressive digital marketing experience in planning and strategy, ideally working with nonprofit online marketing and fundraising programs
  • 2+ years' leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor others to achieve success
  • Expertise in email marketing, SEO/SEM, media planning and buying, UX/UI, testing strategy, and funnel optimization
  • Experienced using marketing tools like Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, and Google Analytics
  • You are a generally curious person when it comes to testing and innovation, and have the drive and determination to want to continually outperform previous results

Nice to haves:

  • Agency experience is a plus
  • General interest in or experience working with AI
  • Experience working in the nonprofit or fundraising sectors

At times, all Blue North employees are asked to come into the office for meetings, special events, or activities. Blue North's office is in downtown Guelph, Ontario.
